A keyword in modern pedagogy is individualization. Learners acquire content at their own pace, based on their current level of knowledge and personal learning requirements. But what sounds simple in theory is a challenge in practice: how do teachers, trainers and educators manage to support many learners individually?

This is where the Exabis module series comes in. Developed by educators and further developed with the Baden-Württemberg State Institute for School Development, Exabis supports skills-based, self-directed learning using digital tools.

With the help of competence grids and ePortfolios, trainers design transparent learning processes and learners take responsibility for their own progress. They document their development, reflect on their skills and actively develop content instead of passively consuming ready-made solutions.

Instead of selective grading, the focus is on ongoing documentation of learning progress. Trainers can provide targeted support and progress can be tracked - for everyone involved. The result is teaching that focuses less on arbitrary decisions and more on what really counts: the skills growth of each individual learner.

Moodle Modules

ePortfolio

Exabis ePortfolio: Making learning visible and structured.
With Exabis ePortfolio you integrate comprehensive ePortfolio functions directly into Moodle. Learners create digital artifacts, link them to competencies and create individual views for reflection, feedback and presentation. The resulting collection documents progress in a comprehensible way - competence-based, personal and shareable at any time.

competence grids

Exabis Competence Grids: Design individual learning paths.
With Exabis competence grids, learning progress in Moodle is mapped in a transparent and structured way. Learners document their skills acquisition in various subject areas, reflect on their development and actively take responsibility for their own learning process. The graphical representation helps to identify, plan and pursue individual learning paths.

learning development reports

Exabis learning development reports: Structured feedback for individual development
Exabis learning development reports focus on the assessment of social and personal skills. Teachers provide individual feedback, which can be either scale-based or freely formulated. They thus create a transparent basis for support-oriented discussions so that learners can better understand and reflect on their development and make targeted progress.

Apps

Dakora+

Planning individual learning processes

Dakora+ is an app for digital learning organization with a focus on individual support. Teachers can assign learning paths to individual learners, small groups or the entire group. At the same time, learners have the opportunity to select supplementary materials themselves and actively shape their learning paths.
All assigned and self-selected content ends up in the planning memory - from there, learners create their personal weekly plan. This is displayed as an interactive timetable, is flexibly customizable and can also be printed out if required.
Dakora+ combines targeted control with personal responsibility: learning paths become visible, structured, plannable and individually expandable - for a modern, skills-oriented learning experience.
