supporting learning processes with exabis

Individualized learning paths, digital learning assessments, eportfolio-work, competence grids, formative performance evaluation: exabis is a series of plugins that has been developed for the learning management system Moodle. The focus is set towards the learner, the series has been developed by educators.

This website contains the documentation for the modules and apps related to exabis.

Exabis ePortfolio enables ePortfolio work for Moodle.

Learning products, so called artifacts that may show the process of learning, are under control of the learner. Artifacts are compiled to views and shared for reflection processes. Individual artifacts can be linked to competences and thereby document the learning process in a certain competence field.

competence gridsv4.6.4

Exabis Competence grids individualize the learning process.

The gain of competence in a certain knowledge field is made visible using competence grids - students either use a learning path provided or develop their individual goals using competences - documented, reflective and visualized.

learning development reportsv4.6.4

Exabis learning development reports (student reviews) are used for formative assessments.

Development reports put the process of advancement into focus. Verbalized feedback by teams of teachers can be used for formative assessments as well as become base of counselling for the personal learning development of students.

Planning individual learning processes

Using DAKORA materials and tasks taken from a competence grid can be assigned to learners individually or in learning groups. Students select materials needed from a planning storage and put them on a weekly learning plan.

Promote and document individual learning processes

Clicking on a competence field opens associated learning materials, directly in the app. Students work on the material, self-assess and turn it in via app. Trainers assess solutions that have been submitted.

Statistics and graphical overviews (competence profiles) are generated automatically and are useful for counseling.

electronical Lifelong Outcomeoriented Vocational Education

The app eLOVE was developed during an EU Erasmus+ project within a consortium of pedagogues from Finland, Holland, Germany and Austria.

eLOVE allows the digital distribution of tasks, tests and materials within competence fields that are made available to learners. Students develop solutions and turn them in. These solutions are either graded automatically or assessed by teachers.

Based upon the principles of self-regulated learning scenarios the documentation of competencies can be supported with the app.

Basic digital education

Diggr (abbreviation for Basic Digital Competences in German - DIGitale GRundbildung) is the ongoing development of eLOVE. Enhancements were made related to handling, login-providers and anonymous accounts.

Diggr makes basic digital competences available to learners. Included are numerous examples and tasks in different digital competence fields.
