Configurating Reports

Through the Report Configurator, administrators can link their own report templates.

Note: When the Gemeinschaftsschulen (community schools) option is selected, numerous templates are already predefined. These templates contain parameter values that are replaced in the learning development report by the predefined module fields listed in the appendix, Moodle profile fields, or the assessments entered by trainers.

Most of the templates for Gemeinschaftsschulen relate to the export entry “Certificate” (→ Export Reports).

Only one template refers to the export of cross-curricular competencies. Here, values from subject competencies of the Exabis competence grid can also be included.

The Report Configurator allows adding additional fields and field sizes to individual template files. The defined field sizes affect not only the report (limiting the number of characters per text field) but also the size of the input fields in the assessment forms (→ Fill Reports).

If the Gemeinschaftsschulen option is not selected, these predefined templates are not displayed, and custom templates can be uploaded or configured.

Note: Some of the Gemeinschaftsschulen templates include predefined selection fields. Since these are predefined templates, not all values (e.g., dropdown list options) are parameterized within the templates.

The predefined template files are parameterized. Variables inside the Word documents are combined with content entered by trainers, generating the final document.

Inside the document templates, there are markers like ${marker}. These values correspond to parameters in the report configurations.

There are standard parameters already integrated into the module:

ParameterDescription
${periode}Description of the input period
${schule}School name
${schule_type}School type

To change the values of parameters (e.g., certificate form), these parameters must be activated in the settings.

Administrators can also add new parameters (e.g., ${student_pets}) and use them in templates.

Additionally, profile fields from Moodle can be accessed, but these must first be configured by the administrator in the Moodle installation.

Effects of Configuration Parameters

A brief explanation of some configuration parameters that administrators can set, along with their impact:

  • exastud | bildungsstandards: The values appear in the column “Educational Standard Achieved” in the classes and can be assigned specifically to students.
  • exastud | use_exacomp_assessment_categories: If this checkbox is NOT checked, the competence categories from the Exabis module are not used.
  • exastud | competence_evaltype: Used for the assessment of cross-curricular subjects.

Note: When the Exabis Learning Development Report is used together with the Exabis Competence Grid module, the competence areas can be defined and used as verbal assessment categories.
